The Volkmann Product Line has significantly improved the 2 x 6 direct feed system through the development of a special unwinding aid. This takes the form of a small cage-like device arranged between the two feed packages which reliably holds the lower feed yarn away from the flank of the upper feed package to prevent rubbing friction. Thanks to the capability of the elasticised cage to adapt to the diameter of the upper package, the occurrence of yarn entanglement is virtually impossible. With this unwinding aid, yarns can be manufactured - particularly for knitting applications - with excellent cost-efficiency and virtually defect-free. For the production of speciality yarns (e.g. triple ply), the employment of assembly-wound packages of the corresponding size in the same pot presents no problem whatsoever. |
